Assessment of Regression Models With Discrete Outcomes Using Quasi-Empirical Residual Distribution Functions

چکیده

Making informed decisions about model adequacy has been an outstanding issue for regression models with discrete outcomes. Standard assessment tools such outcomes (e.g., deviance residuals) often show a large discrepancy from the hypothesized pattern even under true and are not informative, especially when data highly binary). To fill this gap, we propose quasi-empirical residual distribution function general ordinal count) that serves as alternative to empirical of Cox–Snell residuals. The tool is principled approach does require injecting noise into data. When at least one continuous covariate available, asymptotically proposed converges uniformly identity correctly specified model, Through simulation studies, demonstrate empirically outperforms commonly used residuals various tasks, since it close significantly departs misspecification, thus effective tool. assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Tutorial on Using Regression Models with Count Outcomes Using R - Practical Assessment, Research & Evaluation

Education researchers often study count variables, such as times a student reached a goal, discipline referrals, and absences. Most researchers that study these variables use typical regression methods (i.e., ordinary least-squares) either with or without transforming the count variables. In either case, using typical regression for count data can produce parameter estimates that are biased, th...

Robust Mixture Regression Models Using T - Distribution

In this report, we propose a robust mixture of regression based on t-distribution by extending the mixture of t-distributions proposed by Peel and McLachlan (2000) to the regression setting. This new mixture of regression model is robust to outliers in y direction but not robust to the outliers with high leverage points. In order to combat this, we also propose a modified version of the propose...

Assessment of Salinity Indices to Identify Mint Ecotypes using Intelligent and Regression Models

Despite recent development in producing chemical medicines, associated side effects have led to increased use of medicinal plants and natural compounds. Soil salinity, especially in arid and semi-arid regions, is a serious threat to global agriculture. Nowadays, efforts have been made to find benchmarks that can effectively select salt-tolerant or salt-resistant genotypes. In this regard, the u...

An empirical Assessment using structural equation Models

In a recent study, the authors reveal with structural equation models that the positive effect of information technology on generalized trust is mediated by political institutions. Although insightful, a key question remains: Is it the effectiveness and efficiency, the universality, and/or the power-sharing capacity of the state that mediates this effect? Drawing on new institutional economics,...
